a fresh toy with which i can verily 'tinker'.
possible definitions of a tinkerer:
1. one who works unskillfully or clumsily at anything
2. one who busies himself or herself with a thing without useful results
3. a gypsy
4. a small mackerel
i don't claim to be a great writer, i don't plan on inviting anyone in particular to read this 'desvelada' blog of mine, and i don't get paid to do this; so, i guess #'s 1 & 2 are relevant.
however, what comes to my mind when i think of gypsies are tanned, dark-haired women that dress like seductive medieval peasants and dance wildly around a bonfire, banging a tambourine on their hips all the while to distract gaping men from the dirty urchins rifling through their pockets for valuables. i am tan (yay for the mediterranean!), i have dark hair (consequence of being asian), and believe it or not, i've got the outfit (i can barely believe it myself). but i don't dance around fires (to put it more plainly, i don't dance, period) and i can't seduce men with a few whomps on the tambourine. needless to say, i am not a gypsy.
the same goes for the mackerel thing, too.
hmm, not bad.. not bad. matching 2 out of 4 makes me a tinkerer, does it not?
